About the SBCD

The SBCD (Brazilian Society of Dermatological Surgery) was founded in 1988 to encourage the practice, learning, research and scientific training on dermatologic surgery and related procedures in the country through the promotion of education, research and organization of scientific congresses and meetings.

SBCD members are highly qualified dermatologists and hold specialization certificates, being approved through a strict examination and testing process organized and certified by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD) and the Brazilian Medical Association (AMB). The actions taken by the SBCD are in full compliance with the ethical norms and technical standards approved by the international scientific community.

Since 1989, the SBCD has organized the Brazilian Congress of Dermatologic Surgery, the most important Dermatologic Surgery meeting in Brazil. The Congress program combines theory and practice, and provides innovative activities through Practical Courses and Workshops delivered in differentiated formats. In 2010, the event broke a record regarding the number of participants, gathering more than 2,000 professionals.

The SBCD also organizes an extensive course that lasts 12 months. Divided into practical and theoretical modules, the course offers knowledge in basic and advanced surgical procedures, preventive and corrective oncology, cosmiatry and laser therapy.

The SBCD board of associates is formed by professionals from Brazil and abroad. Among other benefits, members are entitled to participate in the scientific courses and meetings organized by the Society, as well as to have access to the scientific publications supported by the entity.
